Speaking and Training
Events, Topics and Scheduling
It’s an honor to serve churches with their events and leadership trainings.
Here are examples of topics and trainings we’ve done in the past.
The Marriage Checkup
Couples looking for enrichment in their relationship, as well as couples in crisis, will discover valuable insights and Biblically-based marriage skills through this in-depth workshop. The Marriage Check-up utilizes the PREPARE/ENRICH Marriage Assessment, the nation’s leading relationship assessment tool for over 30 years. Each couple receives a customized report detailing their strength and growth areas and more. Topics covered include: communication, conflict resolution, forgiveness, family finances, sexual intimacy and achieving goals together.
Ben has taken over 200 couples through the PREPARE/ENRICH Assessment since 2008. He developed The Marriage Check-up in 2016 to assist churches in serving more couples than traditional marriage counseling can at one time. The Marriage Checkup can be done in a one-day 8 hour workshop or spread out over a two day retreat. Couples must complete the PREPARE/ENRICH Assessment at least one day prior to The Marriage Checkup beginning.Download Session One Workbook Sample
Preparation For Marriage
Looking for a premarital counseling event for engaged couples? Preparation For Marriage is a modified version of The Marriage Check-up for engaged couples. Many of the same topics are covered, but with extra time spent on issues such as role expectations and sexual intimacy. Preparation For Marriage utilizes the PREPARE/ENRICH Assessment for engaged couples as well.
PREPARE/ENRICH | www.prepare-enrich.com
The PREPARE/ENRICH (P/E) Assessment and toolset is the ONLY marriage resource available today that can serve EVERY couple. With P/E, there is no need to learn different tools for different stages of married life. I began using P/E in 2008 and later became a trainer for them in 2012. Since then, I have helped churches and counseling centers train their staff and build dynamic marriage ministries. With this one tool, you can:
- Get your entire team on the same page and provide quality marriage coaching to your whole congregation
- Provide premarital counseling to engaged and dating couples
- Minister to married couples in crisis or those simply needing marriage enrichment
- Counsel couples suffering from parenting stress
- Help couples navigate the stress of blended families, fostering and adoption
- Recruit and train volunteer marriage mentors to partner with your staff
- Provide both one-on-one marriage counseling and group marriage classes
- Provide the assessment, reports and resources in 10 different languages
The training workshop to become a Certified P/E Facilitator normally last one full work day and cost $195/person. Staff team discounts are available.Get More Info
These topics and lessons are examples of what we have taught at past events.
Our children’s character is up for grabs. If we do not intentionally shape their character, the world has no shortage of voices and influences that will gladly do it for us. But how do you do it? Together, Ben and Megan walk parents through God’s parenting story to discover His plan for developing Christ-like character.
Intimacy In Marriage
Men and women often have different definitions of intimacy. And with so many views on intimacy, it’s no wonder that married couple often struggle developing true intimacy in their marriage. In this, Ben covers 3 critical keys to developing intimacy as well as how to apply them to some of the most difficult areas of a marriage relationship.
Our Family Fights
Is your family fighting each other…or fighting together? In this series, Ben walks parents through The Armor of God and helps identify God’s plan for preparing to fight spiritual battles together rather than fighting each other.
Leading In The Midst of Evil
Parents are challenged with leading their families through significantly less than perfect circumstances today. It’s often easy to fall into the trap of simply reacting to each problem as it surfaces…but is there a better way? Ben will help parents examine God’s plan for being proactive and redeeming the difficult days we lead our family through.
Grief: God’s plan for healing
Every loss is accompanied by grief. No matter how big or small the sense of loss is, grief is the inevitable next step. Though no one wants to experience this profoundly difficult journey, you don’t have to fear it. Ben and Megan share their own journey of grief from the loss of their son and how God met them in the middle of their pain. Through God’s great mercy, their marriage was strengthened and their purpose was renewed. In this series, they share what to look for in grief, how to relate to others while grieving, how to reconnect with God and handle doubts.
Intentional Growth Planning
Working with Intentional Churches and learning their Intentional Growth Planning system has been the single biggest game-changer in my ministry. By nature, I’m a dreamer who lives in the world of strategy and ideas, often lacking important execution skills. But the IGP system and tools have taught me how to set the right goals and execute plans better than I ever did before. The IGP system is built on StratOp and customized for the local church. This is the same strategic planning process used by Saddleback Church, Willow Creek, Dave Ramsey and some of the fastest growing churches in the country. I consider IGP my ministry operating system and use it with all my teams. I do ministry infinitely better since using these tools.Learn More
